SecureIT Collaborates on a New Project in Security Awareness and Artificial Intelligence

SecureIT is partnering with the University of Akureyri and European universities to educate seniors on AI and cybersecurity.

Following the cyberattack on the University of Akureyri in early 2023 a collaboration began with SecureIT, focusing on restoration and decisive responses. This collaboration led to a partnership project with the University of Akureyri’s Continuing Education program, aimed at enhancing security awareness and education.

The new project, titled Seniors Artificial Intelligence Learning – Well Educated and Risk Secure, aims to teach people in their senior years how to use artificial intelligence and avoid online threats. The project received a substantial grant of 400,000 euros from the European Union’s Erasmus+ funding program for a duration of three years.

SecureIT, together with the University of Akureyri, its Continuing Education Department, and universities from the Czech Republic, Greece, and Poland will collaborate on this project. The project builds on our expertise in cybersecurity and security awareness which we have developed over recent years.

This collaborative project is a significant step towards ensuring that seniors are well-informed and protected against online dangers while also leveraging the benefits of artificial intelligence to improve their quality of life. SecureIT is proud to be at the forefront of this initiative and will continue to work towards enhancing security awareness in the community.
